Patios de Córdoba (May)
Every May, Córdoba’s residents open their flower-filled patios to the public. It’s a colorful competition to find the prettiest courtyard — and the whole city smells like jasmine and orange blossom. Expect flamenco shows, local wine, and friendly neighbors inviting you in.
San Fermín (Running of the Bulls) — Pamplona (July)
Held every July, San Fermín is famous worldwide for the Encierro — the running of the bulls through Pamplona’s streets. Even if you don’t run, the city’s atmosphere is electric, with parades, music, fireworks, and non-stop fiestas.
La Tomatina — Buñol (Last Wednesday of August)
One of Spain’s wildest festivals — and probably the messiest! Thousands gather in the small town of Buñol to throw overripe tomatoes at each other in a huge food fight. Bring old clothes and goggles, and get ready for a day you’ll never forget.
Feria de Málaga (August)
This lively fair turns Málaga into a non-stop street party. By day, the historic center fills with music, dancing, and horse parades. By night, the party moves to the fairground with concerts, rides, and traditional casetas (tents) serving food and drinks.
La Mercè — Barcelona (September)
Barcelona’s biggest street festival takes place every September to honor the city’s patron saint. Expect giant puppet parades (gegants), human towers (castells), fireworks, music, and the famous correfoc — a thrilling fire run with devils and sparklers!
